Direct-to-door study.

Markots is commissioning a study on direct-to-door marketing in the
USA. This is intended as a guide for businesses who want to use
direct-to-door marketing, to help them understand the process fully
and to get the most out of their direct-to-door advertising dollars
in terms of returns and new business. The results of the study will
be published (at least to begin with) in an e--book which will be
available for free download. In order to make this as comprehensive
and useful as possible I would love to receive any information or
tips in the form of comments on this post or e-mails to
dcpfreelance@sbcglobal.net. If I use your information you will get
credit in the e-book. I am looking forward to a torrent of useful
information (tips, links, stories, experiences, successes, failures,
you name it)

Let's talk.......

We are launching Markots Blogs today to create a forum for exchanging ideas and for sharing experiences in direct marketing as it affects growing businesses in the real world. Our area of interest is Direct Mail, Direct to Door, Vehicle Advertising and Internet Marketing. Our passion is to explore new tactics and technologies being deployed in traditional direct marketing services that make them more accountable and effective. And to look for connections and synergies between these and the emerging Internet advertising field to create the 'right' mix of offerings for our clients. Please feel free to share your thoughts and experience with us.

This is also a forum that you can use to constructively share any experience about MARKOTS and how we can do even better to help you achieve your marketing goals.

Analyze your web traffic and please don't give undue credit!

We are great believers in online marketing, especially advertising on search engines. Search engine pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is the predominant form of spending online for most businesses compared to any other type of web marketing. However most businesses mistakenly attribute leads coming through the website as though they were ALL coming from the search engines. This leads to skewed allocation of marketing budgets, away from other online promotion channels as well as to the detriment of off-line channels that drive quality traffic to the company's website.

Internet strategy for a business is not all PPC advertising. It is crucial to analyze the traffic on your website to see the originating source. For instance, people entering your website through your Home Page would clearly be coming from sources other than search engines if your search engine ads are driving traffic to other 'Landing Pages' and not your 'Home Page'. Web Analytics also helps you understand which of the search engines are doing better for you in driving traffic and bringing conversions.

MARKOTS will be rolling out services in Spring 06 to help you effectively connect the dots between the 'off-line' and 'online' world.

Saturation Direct Mail Cost-Effective in Most Situations

We get asked a lot whether a particular direct mail campaign should be targeted to a specific list of names and addresses purchased according to certain demographic criteria, or if blanketing an area may be a better option?
Of course a lot depends on individual circumstances; however we at MARKOTS believe that you should start by thinking whether saturation may fulfil the objective before moving into pricier targeted options. Saturating a local area is a cost-effective way of doing direct mail and you can still have limited targeting ability like suppressing apartments or/and businesses if you are not interested in targeting them. And you can still do limited demographic targeting like picking postal routes with higher income or certain median age and still be saturating the area. The price for doing a 4x6 postcard is 28 cents/pc including design, print, address, mail with standard postage paid.

Direct To Door in Utah

MARKOTS has added capacity to be able to distribute door hangers, flyers and other advertisement throughout Utah. The price for doing this is 15.5 cents/pc and would cover most areas with suburban type population densities.
Deliveries need to be scheduled with at least 2 weeks lead time.

MARKOTS rolls out magnetic decals offering

MARKOTS has started rolling out it's vehicle advertising offerings with a magnetic decal product that will be sold for $99 a pair. The product will be a 24x12" full color magnetic decal and includes any custom designing that the client may need and comes with free ground shipping to any place in the U.S.
